I like the current colors much better than the red text. I did put the version number trailing the aftertext, then switched to put it after, then before the hostname following Thinstation menu). I am not sure where it would go best. . . Ended up with: Thinstation v2.1.1 (Build $HDUPDATE_WS_VERSION) on $CLIENT_NAME Build is only shown if HDUPDATE_WS_VERSION variable is set. Adding the version was a good suggestion. . .took a bit to get it to append the HDUPDATE version on the end (if it exists) as well. I can send a diff file if anyone wants it. Only two files modified. ----- Original Message ----- *From:* Jason Meers <jas...@mv...> *To:* thinstation-developer <thi...@li...> *Sent:* Wednesday, July 13, 2005 7:56:17 AM *Subject:* [Thinstation-developer] ts-2.11 Suggestion: replimenu options > ts-2.11 Suggestion: replimenu options > > We modify all of our TS boxes with the folowing: > > 1) Add a version number somewhere on screen (usually on the main title) > caption = Thinstation Menu > > file Thinstation-2.1/packages/base/etc/replimenu.tmp.main.tpl > line 1 > change caption = Thinstation Menu > to caption = Our own title (v2.11) > > > > 2) Change the default menu colour on major or final builds (visual > testing/stable). > > file Thinstation-2.1/packages/base/etc/thinstation.env > line 12 > change MENUCOLOUR=9 > to MENUCOLOUR=1 > > > 3) I would very much like to see the stations hostname (or IP Address) > along with TS_VERSION shown automatically somewhere on screen for > troubleshooting (bottom would be nice, maybe by replacing > REPLIMENU_AFTERTEXT), but I think this would be done better in the > main release, not as a hack. > > Has anyone any thoughts on the suggestions shown above? > > Thanks > > Jason Meers > > ________________________________________________________________________ > This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by MessageLabs (outbound). > ________________________________________________________________________ > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the 'Do More With Dual!' webinar > happening > July 14 at 8am PDT/11am EDT.
