With the old version of SUMO I didn't have any connection definitions at the "junction" where the on-ramp is connected to the acceleration lane because netconvert did everything fine. After updating SUMO I had to add such connections, because without them netconvert, now, connects the on-ramp to the leftmost lane of the acceleration section. But, these new connection definitions changed the priorities of junction highway-before-ramp, such that the incoming highway lanes had a higher priority than the on-ramp lane (response="110" in the respective request-tag). Hence, vehicles on the on-ramp had to wait until no more vehicles on the highway lanes approach the acceleration section, which never happens. Thanks to the wiki I found the solution to add attribute pass="true" to the connection-tags. Then netconvert gives all highway and on-ramp lanes the same priority, again. Now, I got again my formerly solved problem that the traffic jam only occupies the right lane while vehicles on the left do not slow down remarkebly. So, some work remains. I'll let you know if I need help resolving that. BTW, many of the network tags documented in the wiki have still their old name, for example, "nolanes" instead of "numLanes". Regards Björn |
