#1340 disable following links in PDF

I'm constantly hitting into accidently opening email links and other web links skim seems to recognize in my pdfs. Trying to add a Highlight ( select some Text ) results in opening some link or Mail.
Any possible work around this? or am I just doing things completely wrong?

You should be able to select a link. Always. So I don't see how this can be done differently in any reasonable way.
