Sometimes hangs for about 30s to a few minutes while using the freehand drawing tool or highlighting. Snow Leopard, latest Skim version. Sample included.
I don't see it, and don't see anything relevant in the sample. It seems to hang o getting events, which is really outside Skim. So I think this is more a problem on your side rather than in the program. Are you really drawing (i.e. moving the mouse after mouse down)? Because that's what it's waiting for.

yeah, it actually freezes rather than hangs (theres no beachball) after i draw a line (or highlight). Is there any other info i can provide that might help you pin it down? Or any idea what might be causing the problem, if it is not on the program's side? thanks

Well, maybe if you have a sample that really shows a freeze. Because the sample you attached does not show anything. It's waiting for the next event, and then seems to get one. Precisely as it is supposed to do. So I don't see any problem, I see nothing that does not behave as it shouldn't, it does not hang or anything.
