[sdcc-devel] How is timeout supposed to work?

On 64 bit Debian GNU/Linux:

philipp@phoinikas:~/sdcc$ time  ./support/regression/gen/timeout 2 sleep 10

real    0m10.002s
user    0m0.000s
sys     0m0.000s

On 32 bit Debian GNU/Hurd:

philipp@debian:~/sdcc$ time  ./support/regression/gen/timeout 2 sleep 10

real    0m10.010s
user    0m0.000s
sys     0m0.000s

Shouldn't timeout kill sleep after 2 seconds and the total time be 2
seconds?
