It seems that in function parameter declarations, some developers use foo (bar *x) // variant 1 while others use foo (bar * x) // variant 2 and declarations are changed back and forth. In declarations for things other than function parameters everyone seems to use bar *x; AFAIK our coding standards do not specify variant 1 or 2, but in the examples they give variant 1 is used throughout (http://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/html_node/Formatting.html#Formatting) I suggest we come to some agreement on this issue, which could e.g. be preferring one of the styles, or just leaving the declarations as they are.
