The workaround if it can be called that, because it changes the logic is to insert a break statement. Search for "COMPILER_BUG" to see where the break statement needs to inserted. When that break statement is added the warnings about "conditional flow changed by optimizer" go away too, so maybe it's an optimizer bug.
