> The trial mode is not one of the options on the toolbar. I checked with SCID 4.5 and can confirm this. The trial mode is not there anymore. There used to be a shortcut for this. (Can't recall which - "a"?) I'd have to do tests. *** > The trial mode is important because it is useful to run variations to explore ideas without actually including them as a pgn variation. I'm not sure I understand why you'd not want to have a trace of what you are currently analyzing. If you want to delete it, all you'd need is to right-click over it on the PGN window and choose delete. One more click for the ability to keep a trace may be a good compromise. I'll report it on SCID's tracker. *** > Also, I note that when entering a variation, I am not asked if I want to replace the main move (even when I have selected "ask me" as an option). I'm not sure I understand this. You'd like to always be able to delete the current move and replace it with the move you're entering? |
