[Samtools-help] Use of BclReader

Hi all,

I would like to use the BclReader to convert Illumina bcl files to sam
or fastq files.

>From the documentation I got the following:
BclReader bcl_reader = new BclReader(new File(bcl_file));
while (bcl_reader.hasNext())
{
 BclReader.BclValue val = bcl_reader.next();
 byte b = val.base;
 byte q = val.quality;
}

How can I convert base and quality to strings here?
Sorry if I missed something obvious.
