Make sure you do the 'which' test using /bin/sh (what system are you using?). In the configure script there should be a line like this: You need to install the gtk-devel package before compiling: http://www.gtk.org" 1>&2; exit 1; } You could get it to ignore the warning by removing the 'exit 1;' at the end.
