Hi list! I started using rox a few days ago, and it's a really good app. But there's one annoying thing: it places an unhiden config dir in the home dir: ~/Choices/. I searched the manual pages, the site, etc, but there's no single info on how to change this. So I went to the source code, and voila: $CHOICESDIR. I really sugest someone to put this info in the man, as many users don't understand c.. Well, having used xfce for some time (and its crappy file manager) I found one good thing about it: it complies with some of the xdg specs. The one useful here is the base dir layout. So there's only one global "every-app" var, similar to $CHOICESDIR ->> $XDG_CONFIG_DIR. And that's ~/.config/ by default. So we should have no problems in changing it, if no one goes against that, and it would benefit every one, and cause no major trouble.. Please go to http://standards.freedesktop.org/basedir-spec/basedir-spec-0.6= .html and take a look. If everyone likes it, I suggest we go for it. |
