I want to install ROX-Session and I've tried following the instructions in http://rox.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/index.php/FedoraCore under Fedora Core 2 but I get the following: # yum install zero-install You have enabled checking of packages via GPG keys. This is a good thing. However, you do not have any GPG public keys installed. You need to download the keys for packages you wish to install and install them. You can do that by running the command: rpm --import public.gpg.key For more information contact your distribution or package provider. # rpm --import public.gpg.key error: public.gpg.key: import read failed. I have ROX Filer running but almost none of the examples and instructions on page after page of the various things associated with ROX Filer actually succeeds. Just as an example, I follow the instructions at http://rox.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/index.php/FedoraCore#Tryingx20.itx20.out where it says "You should now be able to load the download monitor and start ROX-Filer: $ /uri/0install/zero-install.sourceforge.net/apps/ZeroProgress/AppRun & Starting ZeroProgress... Ready and waiting... $ cd /uri/0install/rox.sourceforge.net $ ./rox but (as I would expect) the first line fails with: # /uri/0install/zero-install.sourceforge.net/apps/ZeroProgress/AppRun & [1] 2296 -bash: /uri/0install/zero-install.sourceforge.net/apps/ZeroProgress/AppRun: No such file or directory I've poked around on all sorts of web pages and I'm getting more and more confused because the instructions seem to be incomplete, assume certain things have already been done, assume some level of competancy as a developer, or just don't work for some reason. Can someone give me some guidance? No doubt I can eventually figure out how to get everything working by trial and error, but I have a real job to do and can't afford the time to play around for days. I've already spent virtually all day today on this. Thanks, Mike |
