Hey people, following the discussion on this list, some co-workers and I happen to have created a few Symbols in Inkscape, mostly for teaching purposes at my university (Hamburg Univ. of Technology, TUHH). I know that symbols suitable for lecture notes may or may not be suitable for CAD GUIs, but the svg files might at least be good as an inspiration, or as starting point. For some circuit symbols, I have also created different versions, to suite different tastes (or my personal mood on different days?). By convention the svg files are all aligned to a 1px grid, with the stroke width being 1px in most cases. This works well for print, and also for Latex-Beamer, but it might need scaling for GUI purposes. The zip archive can be downloaded here: http://www.tu-harburg.de/~et3cf/download/ Feel free to use it, modify it, (re-)distribute it, you know what I mean. I should mention that I was not quite satisfied with the 'standard' node dot-shaped marker and the arrow markers of Inkscape. There is a file markers.svg which only contains defs of Inkscape markers, including a GND marker and port marker.
