Have you tried to define a variable and then use it to extract a range? vout = out.Vt vout1 = vout[1:500] I'm not sure that a field of a structure (I guess that's what out.Vt means) supports the same index handling syntax as a variable. In some languages such as Scilab it would work but in Qucs i don't know. I'm trying to calculate some circuit parameters in Qucs using user- defined equations from the simulation results. The simulation is a 1001-point transient simulation, the output node is labelled as "out". After the simulation completes, the output voltage versus time is accessible as a vector out.Vt, and one can access the n-th element using the syntax out.Vt[n] in a user-defined equation. For example, out.Vt[500] is the 500th data point. Now I need to slice this vector, for example, to obtain the first 500 data points. But I don't know the correct syntax for this task. I've already read the documentation, including Short Description of Mathematical Functions, and Measurement Expressions Reference Manual. Unfortunately, none of these documents contain any helpful example. I've already tried out.Vt[1:500] and out.Vt[1,500]. But I got either an "Invalid" or "Wrong Dependency" error. What is the correct syntax for slicing a vector in Qucs? Thanks. |

Folks, I’m getting this error while simulating a circuit using QUCS 0.0.19.Rebooting Windows 10 didn’t help, nor did making some minor changes to the circuit. It's repeatable, even with nothing else running on the machine. I subscribed to the qucs-help list, but don't see how to submit a bug report. Please advise. Thanks. Jay Diepenbrock |

Hello Qucs and Ngspice developers, I am glad to present a new Qucs-S v1.0.0 release. The packages and installation instructions could be found at the release page https://github.com/ra3xdh/qucs_s/releases/tag/1.0.0 Here is the summary of the new features: * Added basic support for logic gates simulation (Ngspice >= 38) required * Added possibility to set engineering notation (like 1k, 1M, etc.) for numbers on diagrams * Added symbol preview and search feature for component library in main windows * Backported qucs-attenuator, qucs-transcalc and qucs-powercombining from Qucs-0.0.20 * Added possibility to set dB units for Y-axis on diagrams from the diagram properties dialog * Backported advanced features for projects tree from Qucs-0.0.20 * Show warning if schematic file name changed, but dataset/display file name are not updated * Revised examples tree (by Tom Hajjar); legacy Ngspice-incompatible examples moved to examples/qucsator subdirectory Regards, Vadim Kuznetsov |

@Federico: the mailing list does not support attachments. I remember the usual workaround is pasting the content of your .sch file in your email. @all: Is my statement regarding attachments still valid? I remember that this is still an issue for many years. Dear all, On page 66 from the technical.pdf document we find this formula for the phase modulator: V1(t) − V2(t) = A*sin(ω*t + φ + M*V3(t)) If V3 = 0 and φ = 0, we shoud get a positive sine wave, but we get a negative one, as can be seen simulating the attached schematic, which compares a PM source with a regular AC source. Moreover, if we want a positive sinewave, V3 must be 0.5 V, so seemingly there is a 2*pi factor lacking in the formula V1(t) − V2(t) = A*sin(ω*t + φ + M*2*pi*V3(t)) Finally, the value of φ is not really taken into account, it is as if it were just hardwired to pi/2. Dear All, I,m trying to draw the symbol of a subcircuit in Qucs 0.0.19 (on Windows 7) but when I attempt to pick a line I get a resistor, when I pick an arrow I get an American resisteor, when I pick text I get a cpacitor and so on. I've closed the program and launched it again and the same happens. Looks as if the program looks at the wrong component table when at the symbol edit page. The only solution is to go back to the shematics page, where it does work, create the required drawing element, copy it and then, back into the symbol edit page, paste and modify if required. I hope this will be fixed in 0.0.20. Regards, Federico Miyara -- El software de antivirus Avast ha analizado este correo electrónico en busca de virus. https://www.avast.com/antivirus |

Hello Johann, The Qucs application is not ported to Qt5 and requires Qt4 for its build. You need to compile Qt4 libraries before building the Qucs. But you may look at Qucs-S https://github.com/ra3xdh/qucs_s/releases/tag/0.0.24 that is fully ported to Qt5 and uses Ngspice as default simulation kernel. There exists Qucs-S packages for Debian and maybe these packages could be installed on Devuan too. If you need Qucsator simulation kernel you can compile and install it independently and use from Qucs-S GUI. Qucsator doesn' depend on Qt libraries. Hi all, Trying to install the last QUCS release "qucs-0.0.20" on devuan ( 5.10.0-16-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.10.127-1 (2022-06-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux ),as the package is not available on devuan repository... So when I launch "./configure" I got the following error message : """ ....ng how to hardcode library paths into programs... immediate checking for X... libraries , headers checking for gethostbyname... yes checking for connect... yes checking for remove... yes checking for shmat... yes checking for IceConnectionNumber in -lICE... yes *configure: error: Qt >= 4.6.0 is required.* configure: error: ./configure failed for qucs """ which seems strange as I got QT5.15 installed through qtcreator 4.13. Any tips are welcome to go through this. Thanks in advance Johann -- Cordialement. ___Johann MERCADIER___ *"I am the Unknown lead by the Unknowing.* *I have done so much with so little for so long * *that I am now qualified to do anything with nothing."* |

Hello! I'm trying to replicate an ADS schematic which essentially uses the results of an S1P simulation to create variables which can be used for impedance in a second simulation. It does this through a "Data Access Component". In QUCS, I create a simple AC power source to S1P component and add the equations: Equation Eqn1 Z0=50 RESPONSE=S[1,1] SE_Z=(Z0*(1+RESPONSE)/(1-RESPONSE))/2 Then, in a second circuit, I'd like to use SE_Z as the Z value of (two) AC power sources in a differential pair. This doesn't appear to work currently because it would need to run the two simulations in series (first to gather the S[1,1] data, then a second time to gather the results of using it as the AC power sources impedences). I'm guessing there's an easier way of doing this. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Dear QUCS supporting engineer, My name is Juliang Li and I am a researcher in Argonne national lab working on superconducting microwave resonators. I have been using both Sonnet and HFSS in the past to simulate my design. My supervisor highly recommended QUCS to me recently and I have got simulation running with QUCS on a quarter wave length resonator. However both Sonnet and HFSS showed me resonance around 5GHz except QUCS. I am new to qucs so I am not sure what I did wrong in my simulation. Could you please take a look at my simulation file and give me feedback at your earliest convenience? I have my setup file attached to this email. Thank you very much! Best, Juliang |

Hello, the installation instruction on the Quc-S website need to be updated. It also refers to outdated installation root C:\SPICE for Windows package.
