Status: Closed Resolution: Invalid Bug Group: Minor Priority: 5 Summary: qizmo reports corrupted qwcl when autorunnning quakeforge Details: This might not be fixable (problably qizmos fault), when you get qizmo to launch the quakeworld excutable itself "qizmo qwexcutable" it reports corrupted qwcl. You can still start qizmo and quakeforge seperatly then connect but then you lose model checksumming, cpu check etc abilitys of qizmo. Qizmo doesn't allow running (starting up) "unauthorized" clients. For qizmo, only authorized clients are original releases by ID. This was pretty effective against cheaters for some while, since you could check who are uusing "original" versions with F_MODIFIED command. We can't give qizmo compatable compression, but we already have location reporting. quizmo will never like quakeforge because the binaries have different checksums to qwcl (as one would hope:) ------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2000-Nov-20 03:01 By: Nobody Comment: sorry i didn't know how to see all the old bugs :( the server browser is not much use these days (cept for ppl like me that can only play qw). most important thing for me is being able to change graphical effects for fps (software + crappy puter = 20-30 fps). that weapon impulse setting is quite handy too (selecting what order weapons will be selected if you don't have the weapon you selected or have no ammo for it) ability to force skin colors (for crossdressers or ppl who use dark colors in duels).or make it impossible to crossdress with teamplay enabled. inbuilt support for high asci text (using ^ in front of letters etc, you could problably code it to be control+letter/key though(still keep ^ though so it can be used in configs for binds) some end of level statistic thing would be nice too - like what they have in nitro (efficency frags deaths etc), perhaps put this in the server code so everyone can see. i guess you cannot include support for qwz demos either (shame really because all recent demos are distributed like this - ~400K per 10min duel - guess i could decompress them using qizmo). but normal demo controls/rewind would also be nice. and one million dollars in unmarked non-sequentual bills. hmmmmm that about covers it ;) and one thing i beg of you - please add a qw command like slist so you can tell what servers are running on a lan (ive seen programs that can do this - but none for linux :(). i would help out if i knew how to code :( ------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2000-Nov-21 18:26 By: Nobody Comment: Just found out that qstat does support qw server broadcast querys (even though the documentation says it only supports quake2). ------------------------------------------------------- For detailed info, follow this link: http://sourceforge.net/bugs/?func=detailbug&bug_id=122465&group_id=882 |
