I have just tested qBittorrent on Windows XP (last build from Peerkoel) and I have to say I'm impressed. It works way better than it used to. It downloads just fine (got a very good speed here). Things that don't work: - Downloads from URLs (this is not surprised because apparently we have to redefine a callback function in libcurl otherwise it won't work on windows). I think this can be easilly fixed. Peter, you didn't change the libcurl code right? which version of the library are you compiling against? - Search engine. Once again, not suprising as I don't have python installed on my Windows yet. And even it is were installed, I guess the way we call the python scripts should be improved in order to support windows. This would need some testing I guess but totally feasable. - HTML code in tray icon tooltip is not interpreted, I don't know the reason because it works everywhere else. I guess there must be something windows doesn't like in it. - Installed search engine plugins are not detected, there must be an easy way to fix this if I could test. Things that work fine: - Systray integration - download - torrent addition from local files - program preferences - torrent properties - Web browser calls (to see documentation...) - Almost everything else :) Briefly, I have to say that I'm very pleased with this new build. I noticed that Peter used Qt4.3.1, I guess I will try to use it on Windows Vista just to see how it looks :) Peter, I have a VMWare with Windows XP here (and also a real Windows Vista but I don't like to reboot...). If you could help me reproduce your building steps, I guess I could debug a lot :) Regards, Chris. |
