I have a service that I've developed with Python 2.4, and use py2exe 0.6.6 to turn into an .exe; this has been working quite nicely. Now, I'm converting to Python 2.5, and have installed py2exe 0.6.8. After some fussing, I've gotten the service to compile and run nicely, with one exception: sending email with smtplib. If I install the .py file as the service, email sending goes without a hitch; however, the compiled version consistently gets a "10061, 'Connection refused'" error from the SMTP server. I haven't been able to figure out what the problem might be; debug output shows that the parameters to smtp.connect() are the same in both cases. Any suggestions on what might be going on?
