There has been talk of internationalizing the admin interface to support multiple languages, it's more time consuming than difficult. That is seperate from being able to offer content in multiple languages which would require some sort of tranlation on the fly or entry of the articles in the different languages. No one has actually started on the process of making the admin interfaces support multiple languages that I know of. If you decide to give it a go, please let the list know, we may have some ideas on a good way to do it that can be incorporated back into the code base for everyone to benefit from, I know several people have asked about it.
