McAfee published an update to their virus definition and now I on-access scan pops up a warning message every time I start FireFox Portable, 7-Zip Portable, Audacity Portable, or Eraser Portable. It claims to have found a 'Generic StartPage.r' trojan in a file called 'registry.dll' stored in my 'local settings\temp' folder and deletes the file. Windows XP, McAffee Enterprise with antivirus DAT version 5150. Snippet of the on-access scan log is attached.

New DAT version 5151 does not raise a warning message any more. Changed priority to lowest. Perhaps just something to keep in mind for future releases to ensure future anti- virus updates do not falsely detect portable apps.

McAfee has had this problem before and will probably again in the future. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about them releasing bad virus definitions.
