Note this time we have reintroduced AC_F77_LIBRARY_LDFLAGS which adds additional link flags that we are told by the documentation are supposed to facilitate allowing most Unix platforms to link the mixed C and fortran library libplplotf77. However, if I recall correctly the one time Michel tried the results of AC_F77_LIBRARY_LDFLAGS, the additional flags were nothing but trouble (and Rafael had trouble with them as well on Debian unstable g77 3.3 until a gcc 3.3 patch was applied). Hopefully, Michel will be able to find a workaround for the present case that Koen can use. Because of the troubles we have encountered, we should also not just rely on the documentation that AC_F77_LIBRARY_LDFLAGS is supposed to work. In addition we should test that it works on as many Unix fortran platforms as possible. The SF compile farm is supposed to have a sparc8 processor available so I may try that in the next few days if they have the fortran compiler installed. Joao, will you try fortran on your OSF1 platform using the latest tarball? > but compiling with dyndrivers succeeds. I did some reconfiguring in the tcl/tk area, but obviously it is not enough, and we probably have to write-off tcl/tk on Unix platforms other than Linux until we get some decent cross-Unix platform configuration tools for tcl/tk (probably post-release unless somebody has a brainstorm about what to do). > > > I will try to find some more time to test this week. > Thanks very much for all your testing and fink packaging efforts. Your and Michel's feedback has been most important in helping us to build a more robust PLplot. Alan __________________________ Alan W.
