The wiki (http://gcc.gnu.org/wiki/Visibility) on visibility for libraries compiled by gcc, g++, etc., has just been mentioned on the CMake list. We already deal with visibility issues for the Windows side of things, but it looks like this approach will give us an equal benefit on the Linux side of things. Therefore, I am bringing this link to the attention of the C/C++ experts here. (I am not a C/C++ expert so I only understand visibility issues only at the overview level.) From the above link it appears the benefit might be worth having for the PLplot libraries since the result is smaller libraries, much faster run-time loading, faster execution, etc. Alan __________________________ Alan W.
