Hi thanks very much for your help. I think I've got gtk+2 installed on my computer. this is what I got after $ pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0 jing-tangs-computer:~ Jing$ pkg-config --libs gtk+-2.0 -L/usr/local/lib -L/opt/local/lib -lgtk-x11-2.0 -lgdk-x11-2.0 - latk-1.0 -lgdk_pixbuf-2.0 -lpangocairo-1.0 -lpango-1.0 -lcairo - lgobject-2.0 -lgmodule-2.0 -lglib-2.0 -lintl -liconv -lfreetype -lz - lfontconfig -lexpat -lpng12 I installed gtk2 with macports and it was alright.
