If you are, the you're probably doing it wrong. If you're editing the files that come supplied instead of making new one's that could take 7-8 hours. You don't want to be doing that. Make a new campaign file that loads your hand tweaked files and keep all your changes in there. Then when you upgrade you just copy all these into the new data directory. That's 2 minutes or less. Also, you can use the customiser to get the weapon you want with the CRIT and CRITMULT tags showing 2 and 3. Then copy that line from the custom file into another file (one referenced from your new campaign file), now change those two numbers and you're done.
