As far as I can recall there is no real dependence on Hugin, it just uses WxWidgets as a possible source for the image file format libraries, and assumes a Hugin SDK-like directory configuration when searching for them on Windows. But I no longer remember everything. I would definitely favor having a universal CMake script as the primary build spec.
