This is an interesting and educational game! Love it!

Pretty straightforward install if you have a server. Microsoft based so needs the usual SQL and IIS server but pretty much any org will have one of these kicking around somewhere. Not heavy on resources or server space so any old MS server box will do. Authoring interface is a wee bit quirky - a work in progress. Player interface very easy. The main thing with this program is the power in the engine - you can do more with this simple program in terms of virtual patient authoring than any other VP tool out there. The Power is in the Pedagogy!

While the deploy process could be improved, this is the only implementation of a full Virtual Patient simulator I've ever come across that has a complete and well-documented Web Service API for remote access, that allows counters (i.e. patient vital signs & metadata) to be changed remotely, and that uses popular e-Learning standards such as Healthcare LOM and Medbiquitous Virtual Patient data spec. It also has robust features such as patient-specific or scenario-specific CSS skinning, VUE import and interactive node viewer.

Unportable, bulky, platform dependant and not easy to deploy.
