Category: General Group: None >Status: Pending >Resolution: Accepted Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Alexander Dupuy (dupuy) >Assigned to: Jeroen van Ingen (jeroenvi) Summary: bad CSS prevents scrolling of SNMP::Info documentation Initial Comment: The following bug reports are taken from SNMP::Info mailing list (June 2012, and July 2011) - I would also add that I could not help but notice that the body and #content CSS (in addition to the problematic "overflow: hidden") also references the non-existent font Treuchet MS: font-family: Treuchet MS, Helvetica, sans-serif; which should be "Trebuchet MS" - a nice sans serif font that is generally better for body text than Helvetica. I would request that anyone fixing the (real, functional) problem could also make these two other aesthetic corrections (I checked the CSS file, and neither Treuchet nor Trebuchet appears anywhere else). Vidar Haugsvar wrote: I can affirm the the current web-version of the snmp:info css file doesn't allow google-chrome and firefox to scroll while reading the documentation. Using the developer tools and unchecking "overflow: hidden;" in google-chrome makes the scroll bar appear as normally. Peter Valdemar Morch wrote: When looking at documentation on http://snmp-info.sourceforge.net/SNMP/Info.html, it isn't possible to scroll. I'm pretty sure this patch to the css file <http://snmp-info.sourceforge.net/netdisco.css> would make scrolling work: diff -U 9 orig.netdisco.css netdisco.css --- orig.netdisco.css 2011-07-04 <tel:2011-07-04> 15:44:16.588982464 +0200 +++ netdisco.css 2011-07-04 <tel:2011-07-04> 15:44:30.308798161 +0200 @@ -178,19 +178,18 @@ body { margin:0; border:0; padding:0; height:100%; max-height:100%; font-family: Treuchet MS, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:76%; background:#F5DEB3; - overflow: hidden; } /* for internet explorer */ * html body { padding:2px 0 2px 0; } #content { font-family: Treuchet MS, Helvetica, sans-serif; The problem is valid at least in Firefox 3.6 and Chrome 12. Reading documentation becomes difficult/impossible when I can't scroll! :-) I haven't been able to actually try the above CSS fix, but the following Greasemonkey script (also on pastebin) <http://pastebin.com/JaTnfPkj> /does/ fix it: // ==UserScript== // @name SNMP::Info get overflow back // @namespace pmorch // @description For some reason, the css sets overflow:hidden on <body> // @include http://snmp-info.sourceforge.net/SNMP/Info.html* // ==/UserScript== document.getElementsByTagName('body')[0].style.overflow='inherit' ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Jeroen van Ingen (jeroenvi) Date: 2012-06-25 01:46 Message: Thanks for reporting this. Previously I didn't have access to the files in question, but I have access now so I updated the CSS on both points. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=527527&aid=3533441&group_id=70362 |
