Hi, We're just bringing a new netdisco (0.95-cvs with snmp-info 1.03-beta) install online and ran into an old problem that we'd worked around in the past. It seems that the MAU-based method of determining link duplex doesn't work on any of the HP switches we have. I notice you can get the admin set duplex of a port from one of the HP specific MIBS - hpSwitchPortFastEtherMode in CONFIG-MIB, which seems to be accurate for every model I've tried it on. Is there any reason not to use this instead? and does anyone have any idea which HP switches the MAU based method is supposed to work for? -- Robert Kerr |
