Hi Motion-users! I spent the last few days reading a lot on the internet (guess everybody does that when problems occur :) ) and found a few interesting things which you already might know but for me it was completely new: 1. Warning messages generated by make aren't real errors, they "may" indicate a problem but compiling continues. Fatal errors are those which start with make: *** . 2. Freesco (my distro) moderators say that you can't compile libc6 software for Freesco cause Freesco uses the older libc5 library and that includes Zipslack3.9 too. 3. In "Preparation For Install" (MotionGuideInstallation) I saw this: Motion will always need these libraries to be built and work Library RPM Packages Debian Packages libm, libresolv, libdl, libpthread, libc, ld-linux, libcrypt, and libnsl glibc and glibc-devel libc6 , libc6-dev ,libglib1.2 libjpeg libjpeg and libjpeg-devel libjpeg62 and libjpeg62-dev ( optional libjpeg-mmx-dev ) libz zlib and zlib-devel zlib1g and zlib1g-dev So I guess Motion is made on a libc6 system (Debian Packages libc6). And like Bill said I'm afraid I can't compile Motion on my system :( But anyway, I want to thank everyone for his/her help. I learned a lot from you guys! :) Thanks again! Best regards ArAge BTW: uname -a shows "linux compiler version 2.0.39" ----- Original Message ----- From: "Angel Carpintero" <ac...@te...> To: "Motion discussion list" <mot...@li...> Sent: Wednesday, January 17, 2007 8:44 PM Subject: Re: [Motion-user] problem make-ing motion-3.2.7 > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Take Surveys.
