Apparently the name/abbreviation came from the original manufacturer of the chip (Brooktree). 2) Reading through the sources, it appears that the config option is only effective when used under the FreeBSD operating system. Setting "--without-bktr" under FreeBSD corresponds to setting "--without-v4l" under Linux. In each of these cases, it is only useful when you don't have any v4l (bktr) devices on your system, i.e. you are only using network cameras. Proposed patches for any of the Motion source files, including those used for configuration, are always welcome :-). Bill |
