Hi All, Thanks to the great guide on install and config, I successfully installed and ran Motion (in daemon mode) on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS today. It was able to generate several *.avi files for my IP cam. However, these are files created as user/group motion:motion with rw to only motion. I want to delete some of these files but I can't. I've tried sudo and of course that didn't work. I thought about adding the motion group to my user id, but that won't help either, since file group permission is 'r' only. What is the default motion password, so I can 'su - motion' and remove the files. Also, how can I change this to make it my own files. I noticed the following in the daemon start script. Can I change the chuid to another user instead of motion? I'm not sure if I have this part setup correct or how to work around this. if start-stop-daemon --start --oknodo --exec $DAEMON -b --chuid motion ; then Thanks for the help. MrT33 |
