Hello,

Is there a way to set up minidlna so it can stream what's in zip files? My movies are mostly stored in multiple zips and that'd be awesome.

Thanks in advance

I'm sure that there's a valid reason... but why are they stored in zip files?

It's stores un multiple rar files in order to avoid corruption. Just an old
      habit.

Your original request was about zip files, not RAR files. Regardless, as far as I'm aware there is no support for either.
Media files tend to be well compressed already so there's not much call these days for keeping them inside chunked compressed archives.
I can only suggest that you find a batch tool (or make a script) to remove everything from such archives.

        Regards,
        Craig

Sorry It's rar files, not zip files...

I know it's probably not relevant but this is supported by vlc and xbmc, as
examples. The goal here is not to gain compression, it's to limit data
          loss during transfers or storage.

There are quite a few people that download stuff like that, this is why
          it's a usefull functionnality.

I would also like to express my interest in this request. Compression is not the real subject. It's all about recovering from data loss.

Use rar2fs to mount your shares. This will create a FUSE fs where you can see media as if unpacked
