MiniDLNA (aka ReadyDLNA) is server software with the aim of being fully compliant with DLNA/UPnP-AV clients. It is developed by a NETGEAR employee for the ReadyNAS product line. So if you are looking for a NAS, please consider ReadyNAS first!
Very simple to install and configure. Low server requirements. Just needs .m3u./pls play list support and Last.fm scrobbling ;-)
great idea
small footprint, great results!
Works with Samsung Series6 PDP, video, audio and Jpegs. Fantastic effort. Thanks

The only working UPnP Server, for linux with Sony KDL, I could find. You made my day!
Thank you. Simple no hassle setup and awesome streaming. Thank you!
The only (to my knowledge) FOSS DLNA daemon that works with Sony Bravia TVs. It works well and has a very small footprint.
This rocks .... first LINUX based DLNA / UPNP server that works with my Samsung TV completely.
Active development and fast responses on bug reports. Works grate with Ubuntu and Sony Bravia TV's
It works with my Samsung UE46B8000 TV but I've noticed that files larger than 4.5 Gb are not supported by the TV with this server. I've tried with another device and they are working. I've also tried with another server and the TV and the files are playing well. So, I don't know ... but anyway, it works perfectly for other files ;)
I have a Samsung 7100 series LED TV with DLNA support. I looked for Linux server that worked with it. I tried MediaTomb but I always got the message "not supported file format". After much forum reading, tweaking and frustration I gave up on it and tried MiniDLNA. Now, that was day and night, MiniDLNA just worked right out of the box, I could see my pictures, listen to my music, watch my videos (at this point I only tried wmv, divx and it works perfectly). Finally a piece of software that just works !!! Many thanks to the author ! Actually I would have happily paid for it.
Great piece of software, I managed to get it working on my Debian fileserver within a few minutes and so far it seems to be working fine with my Samsung LE46B750 TV. If the ReadyNAS products are using this, I believe I can recommend these to people who want a home media server without the necessity to build and maintain their own.
mini configuration, mini program, maxi working solution ;)
Great! Only one works. Tested with Nokia E52. But this is no possibility to synch context from Nokia to DLNA. One planned?
