Is there a specific reason for providing the release in *.lzma
In contrast to *.gz and *.bz2, this is not available by default
on many systems. Also, the higher compression doesn't make much
difference on such a small package.
Well, maybe there's indeed a good reason to use a modern compressor.
But then, why not using the *.xz format directly? According to
"man xz", the *.lzma format is a legacy file format. It's the
deprecated predecessor of *.xz.
So that's what I'm wondering. The *.lzma format appears to be a
lousy compromise. It is neither really widespread nor state of
the art. However, feel free to rectify my evaluation. :-)
