Initial Comment:
I installed Maxima 5.9 a couple of days ago, and it 
worked fine, until I installed Borland Turbo C++ 4.5, and 
now every time Maxima starts, I get a "Could not open a 
socket" error. I can't do any operation inside the 
program, because of that. I have already unistalled and 
re-installed the program several times, and nothing has 
changed. Can I do anything to avoid that error?

Closing this report as "won't fix" because fixing it
requires additional information which is impossible to
obtain at this late date. Sounds vaguely like the Windows
firewall problem which has been reported > 1 time, although
of course I can't be sure.
