Well, I actually expected one or the other of those to cause an error ... I'm kind of confused now. Maybe the error is not coming from one or the other of those functions. Perhaps you or someone else can execute Maxima with the debugger enabled (maxima -g) and get a stack trace (just enter backtrace at the debugger prompt) ?? > Sorry for the delay.
