-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hope, it is good style to post a solution as soon as you have found it - - so I will do that now: If you want to deal with massive amounts of numeric data it is wise to do the following: /* Don't save the history of results as %[n]*/ nolabels:true; /* Only use the most memory and speed efficient array types */ use_fast_arrays:true; ...and to put all measurement data into arrays of the types fixnum or flonum. Lists and Matrices tend to need loads of memory and to be slow - - which is the cost for them being appendable and able to hold contents of individual sizes per element. It is still surprising how good maxima is in doing things it (since it is a mighty program for symbolic calculations) has never been designed to. Kind regards, Gunter. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1 Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJTYhquAAoJEFyGwOQhHVuOWkQP/3coIzQODbHPsa4Mlj8ADoBo 2rhldsa5SdDfWEMacCaisZKO4LrHbJP77pRfmY4gsDd1vDy/8ALr4YJDxfcmBENI D5y1W2i/YMOtHl4raY+zNG6v9+yiQ52wkaXqorGNRa5eQvccEiZRFhNiWTYFCSRZ tPvHqEcM3meq9juxTOkoA2WkppNSsT6aroGkpFX6E+L2WQzDKsJKaSbMYX6UgLJ9 sfoXOub1oRt+gsf3d7sRfqrplYFOxMsfFbrtjNkgrAmzCTX13bSHpKdWeI+Tqmoq M4n8WrTII4QRSCxh9LUVJmZcgsJaYUjk0er5jQ5/Zvd9Ch+HKTQInUnzsCNPv4/e TyGWNsr0jgLhrAit6pSEU7ferFNwOl8AgAFq5UnA1iUaq9ffAVRcSm+8W0h9d8oF kyeVlEHHTPl3oVloLjEbISBVrFV9qpUf9To9FBRVC47/huARTnz3JSWWiNACKf1x cdIp6fP33AAy/Zf4IOY3KMVdWsabAB6s/BIMw6wa07CDTJKLeQot1F1Ug9aOBYgv uIGG/4sSRFr+BtH/zh4ChorH7G32UhbA+Qvha/g5Oe53yU9pOPqSru34dBt7unIM OIdLTWlWh8g+EgZldBaoFeHG2gdwVijT/Aw3INKGpI1y8MMzlBIBTmCwpY5YWCiE XSooBnwF6JpKiaKp63eh =Ka5S -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
