Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Peter Simons (peti) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: {a}\over{b} is obsolete Initial Comment: The expression "tex(a/b);" generates the following output: $${{a}\over{b}}$$ LaTeX produces a warning when processing that expression. Fractions should be marked up as \frac{a}{b} instead. I'm using the following version: Maxima version: 5.20.1 Maxima build date: 10:10 4/1/2010 Host type: i686-pc-linux-gnu Lisp implementation type: SBCL Lisp implementation version: 1.0.37 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Raymond Toy (rtoy) Date: 2010-04-17 10:00 Message: Closing bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Peter Simons (peti) Date: 2010-04-12 10:56 Message: Yes, having a latex() function to generate renderings suitable for use with LaTeX would be great. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jaime E. Villate (villate) Date: 2010-04-12 10:43 Message: But TeX does not recognize \frac{ }{ }. What we need is to create a new function latex( ), in addition to the already existing tex( ) one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Raymond Toy (rtoy) Date: 2010-04-11 16:34 Message: Perhaps the documentation for tex is not clear, but the output of tex is TeX, not LaTeX. Although I haven't used TeX in quite some time, I'm pretty sure \over is valid TeX. Marking as pending/invalid. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=104933&aid=2985569&group_id=4933 |
