Hi, all This is a message to inform you that OpenUSB project has finally got opened. It is a fork of the libusb 1.0 project. If you don't know why we made the fork, you may need to look a while back into the archives for discussions on libusb 1.0 project. It is a long history, a hard decision. Based on existing libusb 1.0 API and implementation, we set up much more specific goals and requirements for the OpenUSB project. Please take a look at our webpage at http://openusb.sourceforge.net/. Opening the project and defining the project scope is just the first stake in the ground. The website is still under construction. The API, the codes, the documentation, ..., plenty of work remains. We now have 4 developers, but our expertise is constrained most in Solaris. We are looking forward to developers in other expertise domains joining us. If you are interested in joining the openusb project, feel free to contact us. Also, any thoughts on refining or expanding the project scope are welcome. We name this project "openusb" right in the hope that the project would be open to more voices and more developers would be involved in the development work. So far, we have made some progress in Solaris and Linux implementations. For Solaris, the USB tree navigation and basic I/O functions have been implemented. For Linux, the isochronous I/O support is added. But the codes are not yet available on our website. We need several extra days to set up the repository. So please stay tuned. Cheers, Sophia |
