Hi all -- I'm interested in working on Kile. I'm a student who has just come into a ton of free time that I'm trying to fill up before I start grad school (chemistry, fwiw), and giving back to the KDE community that has given me so much sounds like a good use of it. I'm familiar with c++ and python, and I'm rather new to Qt, but I'm in love with what I've seen of it so far :) I've never worked on a community project before, and I figured that since I use kile on a daily basis it'd be a familiar entry point. I'd like to see what input you experienced folks have for a starter -- is there a style guide I should familiarize myself with, an overview of kile's layout, etc... is there an unclaimed issue that is known and would be a good starting point for someone new to the project? I look forward to submitting some patches :) David Lonie |
