Hi, I can't say anything about the quality, but I can give a little hint on size. Avidemux defaults for DVD with mpeg mp2 audio output with 192 KBps bitrate. Kdenlive, using ffmpeg, and ffmpeg itself (using -target pal-dvd or -target dvd) use AC3 448 KBps output rate. This will give a substantial difference in file size especially in smaller mpg's. If you open the files in avidemux, take a look in the audio/video file information and see what is said about the audio codec and bitrate. Kind regards, Harry Jan Uhlir wrote: > Just a notice: > Source video has around 7MB > Output video from Kdenlive has around 10 MB > so there is like 30% increase in size. Isn't the bitrate quality in DVD export profile set too high? > Output video from Kdenlive reencoded again using ffmpeg -target dvd has around 10 MB too. > > Avidemux uses ffmpeg or mencoder in background? Hmm, there could be some catch too. > > I'm still not giving up. I try some experiments again. I try to compile Kdenlive & comp. from svn/cvs. I can try to put target=dvd directly to Kdenlive libavformat parameters in export profile. I will keep you informed. > > |
