This is a feature request for improved change layer style options.
You can make something like a colortheming of a layer. That works good. But in some cases it is better to give the vertices not different colours but a different size depending on their attribut value. Ok, You can do this job with the buffer function, but this brings no differences in the legend, like by the colortheming. So it is a problem for a print layout for example.
So there is a need for gradual sign sizes depending on a attributs value and to have some option to choose a sign (option a)choose from some basic signobject (circle, rectangle, etc.) and define some appearing options (line: color, thickness, transparency; fillings: color, tranparency) option b) choosable scalable image file).
This feature is still not implemented for vertices. I did find something analogous:
- In the basic style editor the text size of labels can be defined by an attribute.
- The VertexSymbolsPlugin in OpenJUMP PLUS can rotate vertex symbols by a value that comes from an attribute but the size of the symbol can not be defined that way.
It might be more simple to add this feature to VertexSymbols than to styles in OJ core.
