But please also understand that "Great thinking guys!" does not really motivate people that give most of their free time to the project instead of spending it somewhere else. That was the reason of my email, not the feature request itself - that is, in opposite, very important think - a feedback by project users. As to your suggestion, please check first that clients can multicast arbitrary Java objects in the group. So your proposal, should allow this use (i.e. it should not require clients to implement a platform-neutral object externalization), but also have a possibility for a platform-neutral message passing to enable the multi-platform group communication. Formalizing internal message format is not so hard (though probably boring) compared to finding the most elegant solution of the above mentioned problem. Roman |
