Many libraries use the MARC format for their catalogues (http://www.loc.gov/marc/umb/) and do not provide options to export data in RIS, BibTeX or other more popular formats. Instead of manually copying and pasting field descriptions, it would have been very useful to have a MARC import filter that would read raw MARC data and create a bibtex element out of it.
