Would it be possible to highlight in the group-tree the groups of an reference-entry, when the entry is selected?
This would be a straightforward way to see immediately the groups to which an article has been classified to.
Thanks for the hint. I did not know this, as this feature was deactivated in my installation (JabRef 2.5, Windows XP). Only by clicking on Menu->View->"Highlight groups matching any/all selected entries", the corresponding group(s) became underlined.
Perhaps it would be better to activate this feature by default? Also, I did not found any documentation about this feature.
For a long list of groups, it could also be helpful not only to underline the groups, but to highlight them with a different color (perhaps red?) or in bold font, in order to see the corresponding groups rapidly.

As far as I can see, in JabRef 2.5, this is already the case. When I select an entry, its corresponding group(s) is underlined in the groups tree.

Highlighting (i.e. underlying) is on by default now. The other suggestion to use a color is tracked at https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues/932
