It would be very useful if the ability to insert macros was available in the JabRef formatting script language. The one use case I have come across so far is adding OpenURL links to the entry preview window - currently this results in a very long line of text which is unwieldy to manage, something like:

OpenURL

If this string could be defined in a separate location, for example just some text stating

\&openurl = OpenURL

and then referenced wherever needed, e.g. in entry preview:

\bibtextype\begin{bibtexkey} (\bibtexkey)\end{bibtexkey} - \&openurl

This would greatly enhance the power and readability of the formatting language.
