It would be great if the software could warn you of the
use of non-supported characters. I find I have to be
very careful when copying abstracts in case there are
percentage symbols or others that can mess up the TeX
build.
The current warning (when ssaving the file) is too late -- I
might have imported 10 or 20 references since I last saved
the file (saving takes a while with a big library!) and
finding the "bad" character is often quite difficult.
Could the unsupported characters warning be shown when you
change references or even change fields rather than just
when you save? (A little like the duplicate BibTeX key
warning is shown when you change references)
