Found an odd bug that started with 0.9.6.20090927. It also is present in the latest (0.9.6.20090928) build.

When there is text in the scrollback buffer, and text is selected (click and drag) back into the buffer, the screen keeps jumping back to the end of the buffer, making it impossible to select text further back than the last screenful.

A workaround is to scroll up first, and then select text forward - this selects the text properly.

Oddly, selecting "backward" does work properly if the screen is scrolled already, even by one line. For example, if I scroll up so just the final line in the buffer is not showing, I can select "backward" into the buffer with no trouble.

System info: MacBook Pro running 10.6.1

Please let me know if you need any other information to track this one down and thanks again for your outstanding work on iTerm!

The latest unreleased code in subversion has fixed this problem. Please check it out. Alternatively the fix will be available in the next release.

Checked out and built rev 1863 from svn. This issue does indeed appear to be fixed, so feel free to close it.

Thanks for your quick fix and all your work on iTerm!!
