Abid, Look in /lib/modules/2.4.25/kernel and find sir-dev.ko It could be in another dir like /net/irda under the same path. If it is present then do modprobe sir_dev For the BIOS configuration, ACPI function needs to be disabled : BIOS CMOS Setup Utility -> Power Management Setup -> Set ACPI function to disable Regards, Vinio -----Original Message----- From: ird...@li... Subject: Re: [irda-users] IrDa problem: PPP connection between two linux s ystems Hi Vincent, Thanks for replying. I am using serial IrDA device with 9 pin DB connection. It can communicate upto 115200 bps(Maximum limit). For such device do I really need Bios support and what other module support do I need. How I can get those modules etc. My purpose is to establish a ppp link with it. Kindest Regards Abid Becker Vincent-rc023c wrote: >Hi Abid, > >What is the transfer rate of your IrDA link ? > >You may miss a module if it is Fast IrDA and sir-dev module if >it is Serial IrDA (or Slow IrDA up to 115200 bps). > >Regards, > >Vincent > >-----Original Message----- >From: ird...@li... >[mailto:ird...@li...]On Behalf Of Abid Rashid >Sent: mercredi 22 septembre 2004 19:48 >To: ird...@li... >Subject: [irda-users] IrDa problem: PPP connection between two linux >systems > > >Hi Friends >I am a new user to IrDA stuff.
