Hi Trying to understand how to troubleshoot my Libretto. Kernel 2.4.18. Debian unstable downloaded from.. deb ftp://ftp.de.debian.org/debian unstable main non-free contrib I did apt-get dist-upgrade from a Debian 3.0 r0 stable installation. cat /proc/modules shows... pcnet_cs 12676 1 ds 6624 2 i82365 22384 2 toshobe 7040 0 (unused) irda 138764 (toshobe) parport_pc 25672 (autoclean) irattach /dev/ttyS1 -d toshobe -s reveals.. Sorry, dongle not supported yet ! Usage: irattach <dev> [-d dongle] [-s] [-v] [-h] Dongles supported: esi tekram actisys actisys+ girbil litelink airport old_belkin ep7211 mcp2120 act2001 ma600 setserial /dev/ttyS1 reveals .. ttyS1, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x02f8, IRQ: 3 When I run irdadump the command line stands still. Nothing happens. The problem is that when the machine boots I get the following error message ... "skipping i82365 module - edit /etc/discover.conf to re-enable". What line should I add to discover.conf in order to get the i82365 module loaded at boot time ? I've had a look at.. http://tuxmobil.org/Infrared-HOWTO/infrared-howto-s-configuration.html the bit about /etc/modules.conf drew my attention. Looking into this on my Debian based Libretto I can see that I have uncommented the part that says.. # FIR device drivers options toshobe max_baud=9600 # mobile phone speeds alias irda0 toshobe is this the correct way to set up modules.conf ? The other options are there as described in the howto. The main question is that is IRDA supported on this hardware ? Reason I'm asking is because I am trying to understand whether the IRDA port is broken on this machine or is it that I am not understanding how to configure it properly.
