Hello all! I ran into the problem, that a "funny hup" on the way between an SDSL and an ADSL Interface needs not 1492 MTU but 1484! That "funny hup" fagments every packet which is greater than 1484 into a first packet of "funny" 1000 bytes and a second with the remaining. The "funny hup" is ignoring the DF flag, so it can't be detected with ICMPs to the sender... Tho PMTUD would not work, the connecction runs(slowly), because it is always fragmented...doubling packet count and ACK number. To my surprise i can set MTU for IPsec, Why? What could by a usefull applicatoion for a virtual device like ipsec0 not to use 16K? But pppoe GUI does not have such a field and no ethernets (GUI?) have. Why? How is the "intended" way to set other MTU in IPcop? Does IPcop do PMTU-Discovery? Second problem: PPPoE has a default txqueuelen of only 3. The reason WAS that streaming schould not interfere with interactive services (Telnet) on ISDN and Modem. An ADSL is much faster, so whyt is the txqueuelen still at 3 and how could that be changed?
